About Me

Working with me feels calm, grounded, and collaborative. I show up with warmth, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to understanding you and your story.

Linay Repath is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She obtained an Honours Undergraduate Degree in Psychology in 2015, an Advanced Diploma in Behavioural Sciences in 2017, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology in 2023.

Linay began her career in the field of mental health in 2017, where she worked within the Criminal Justice System and supported incarcerated males with a broad range of issues. She later transitioned from forensic mental health to community care, offering individual therapy within a private practice setting. Having recently opened her own practice, Linay is eager to continue fostering relationships and supporting folks within her community.

Throughout her career, she has obtained formal training in a variety of therapeutic modalities and has extensive experience working with differing mental health concerns. However, she is particularly passionate about supporting those who struggle with anxiety, attachment wounds, trauma/PTSD, and occupational stress/injury. She has dedicated a portion of her practice to helping first responders and other frontline workers, given her personal commitment to help protect the mental health of those who sacrifice endlessly to protect us.

My Approach

My approach is warm, relational, and rooted in the understanding that early experiences shape our emotional world and the ways we relate to ourselves and others. While I draw from a blend of therapeutic perspectives, I lean heavily on experiential, emotion-focused, and mindfulness-based therapies to support deeper self-understanding and awareness, while also making space for new possibilities and meaningful change. Together we explore these layers with care and curiosity, allowing clarity and healing to unfold at a pace that feels right for you.

Where my commitment to frontline workers began…

While working in forensic mental health, I witnessed the suffering of many colleagues, as they dealt with chronic stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, traumatic stress, and the quiet, cumulative injuries that come from frontline work. I watched as they worked tirelessly in a system that was failing them – stigma, limited resources, and other systemic issues meant that my co-workers were often without adequate mental health support.

This sparked in me a desire to support those who feel the most unsupported; those who are concerned about their anonymity, their reputation, their professional standing, and the very real consequences of being vulnerable in such working conditions – and who, therefore, often suffer in silence.

I became committed to creating a therapeutic space where frontline staff and other helping professionals can feel safe, seen, and understood, without fear of judgement or exposure. Understanding the complexities of issues faced by frontline staff has allowed me to connect deeply with helping professionals in the community – people who are skilled at caring for others, yet often carry their own pain quietly.

If you are a first responder, frontline staff member, or other helping professional in need of support, please know that you need not carry such an impossible load alone.
